Baseball Game Preview: Elsberry Indians vs. Whitfield Warriors

The Elsberry Indians will take on the Whitfield Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Elsberry's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Monday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Elsberry's offense. They lost 15-0 to Wright City on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered against the Wildcats since March 31, 2015.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitfield). They blew past Mark Twain 13-4 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Whitfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-16 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Elsberry, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
