Volleyball Recap: Iola Comes Up Short

Iola lost against Baxter Springs back in September of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10.

Zoie Hesse paced Iola's offense, picking up five kills. Hesse really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six.

Iola's loss dropped their record down to 9-25. As for Baxter Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-15 record this season.

Iola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Osawatomie on the 20th. As for Baxter Springs, they will square off against Frontenac at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
