Basketball Game Preview: North Shore Mustangs vs. Atascocita Eagles

North Shore is 1-9 against Atascocita since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The North Shore Mustangs will host the Atascocita Eagles at 1:00 p.m. North Shore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season.

North Shore easily dispatched Dekaney on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. North Shore fell just short of La Porte by a score of 51-49 on Saturday.

Despite their loss, North Shore saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Da'Marcus Sloan, who posted ten points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashaad Williams, who had 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Atascocita is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Notre Dame Prep. Atascocita came up short against Notre Dame Prep, falling 68-47. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

North Shore's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Atascocita, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.

North Shore took a serious blow against Atascocita when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 67-37. Can North Shore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
