Baseball Recap: St. Henry Comes Up Short

St. Henry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-3 to the Covington Catholic Colonels. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Colonels this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-0 loss on Tuesday.

Jackson Popil was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Gage Peace, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

St. Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Covington Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Coming up, St. Henry will face off against Simon Kenton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Covington Catholic, they will square off against Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluebirds will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Colonels surely won't give up without a fight.
