Laney is a perfect 10-0 against West Brunswick since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buccaneers will be playing at home against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Laney will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Laney beats West Brunswick with nine runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Buccaneers never let Topsail get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Tuesday. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Bailey Bettencourt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Krueger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Bettencourt wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Laney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Brunswick's offense. They lost 7-0 to South Brunswick on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Laney's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for West Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Laney hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like West Brunswick struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Laney took their win against West Brunswick when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-1 score. Do the Buccaneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
