Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over Environmental Charter. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the game before.

Brandon Morinaga made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Morinaga was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bodhi Duenas was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Luke Ludwig also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Environmental Charter only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Santa Rosa Academy posted their closest win since March 12th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Cathedral City. Eight seems to be a good number for the Rangers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Santa Rosa Academy got a big performance out of Elijah Brewer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Rangers are 2-1 when Brewer posts two or more runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dominic Zagone, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
The victory (which was Santa Rosa Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 11-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, they moved to 8-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Santa Rosa Academy in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
