Baseball Recap: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Bothell Cougars
Lake Stevens proved they can win big last Friday (they won by six) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bothell Cougars, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Manny McLaurin tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Bouley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Julian Wilson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
