Volleyball Recap: Rapid City Central Comes Up Short

If Rapid City Central was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Huron last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cobblers came up short against the Brandon Valley Lynx on Friday, falling 3-0. The Cobblers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lynx from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-11.

Brandon Valley was led to victory by Mya VanWesten and Logan McGuire. VanWesten had 20 digs and four assists, while McGuire hit 100% for five kills and nine digs and three aces. McGuire is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Ashley Ertelt also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Rapid City Central dropped their record down to 10-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Brandon Valley, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.

Rapid City Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against O'Gorman on the 18th. As for Brandon Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Stevens on the 18th.
