Basketball Recap: Decatur Community Skates Past Northern Valley with Ease

There's no place like home for Decatur Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 58-31 win over the Northern Valley Huskies. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Brylee Minnick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 8 en route to 18 points. Minnick is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jenna Fortin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten steals.

Decatur Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Valley only pulled down three offensive rebounds.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaycee Gebhard, who posted 11 points.

Decatur Community's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points per game. As for Northern Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Decatur Community has already played their next game (against Hoxie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Northern Valley has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Wheatland-Grinnell.
