Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kellen Powell and Lawson Hopkins Lead New Hope Academy Regional to Victory

New Hope Academy Regional picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They secured a 66-60 W over the Banneker Bulldogs.

Leading New Hope Academy Regional to victory were Lawson Hopkins and Kellen Powell. Hopkins posted 31 points and seven boards, while Powell earned 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Hopkins' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

New Hope Academy Regional is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-15 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Banneker, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
