Softball Recap: Walton-Verona Comes Up Short on the Road Against Carroll County

Walton-Verona kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Carroll County Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ava Donato was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sophie Lepping, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Walton-Verona Bearcats duke it out with George Rogers Clark Cardinals at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carroll County, they will challenge Central at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th.
