University had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the West Florida Jaguars by a score of 61-49. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 439th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for West Florida, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will challenge Colonial at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for West Florida, they will face off against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
