Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Bartow

Bartow won the last time they faced Plant City and things went their way on Saturday too. Bartow blew past Plant City 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brooklyn Tyson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Alyssa Hillman was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Huffman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Bartow, bringing their record up to 10-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Plant City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Bartow wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-3 defeat against Inspiration Academy on the 15th. As for Plant City, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
