Softball Recap: Crystal City Comes Up Short

Crystal City lost against Hondo back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Javelinas lost 11-1 to the Owls.

Crystal City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Mendoza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Aubrey Villareal also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Crystal City's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Hondo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crystal City will take on rival Cotulla at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hondo is set to challenge their familiar foe Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
