            Basketball Recap: Parkland Matadors vs. Americas Trail Blazers        
        
		
        
        
            Parkland was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They were beaten by the Americas Trail Blazers 75-16. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings  (they are ranked 1094th, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 69th).
 Rachel Silva was Parkland's leading scorer, having posted nine  points.   Mia Arambula held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Americas, their win was  their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 19-3.
 Parkland will take on Bel Air at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Bel Air is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3  points per game  this season. As for Americas, they will face off against Hanks at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Americas knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hanks likes a good challenge.
