Angelus Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Jaden Jefferson's Big Game Leads Cathedral over Bishop Alemany

Starting off the list is Cathedral's Jaden Jefferson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Jefferson threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 71 yards on only six carries.

Jefferson must have Bishop Alemany's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Jefferson last faced the Warriors back in September of 2023, he threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.

A Season-Best Performance from Marley Luatua Leads St. Paul over St. Francis

On Friday, St. Paul got the W thanks in part to Marley Luatua playing the best football he has all season. Luatua rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of St. Paul's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

The win snapped St. Paul's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. Luatua and St. Paul are on the road again on Friday to play St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 7:00 p.m.
