The Archbishop Murphy Wildcats will challenge the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Murphy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Archbishop Murphy will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Mountlake Terrace on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Hawks.
Ari Dixon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Archbishop Murphy got a massive performance out of Maddie Evans, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Evans a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Saylah Lopez, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Archbishop Murphy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountlake Terrace only managed ten hits.
Meanwhile, while Edmonds-Woodway put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Shorewood. The Warriors came out on top against the Stormrays by a score of 5-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
The result came thanks to Ella Campbell's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Catie Ingalls was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Edmonds-Woodway pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Murphy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Archbishop Murphy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Edmonds-Woodway struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
