Softball Recap: Checotah Wildcats vs. Fort Gibson Tigers
Checotah lost to Fort Gibson back in August of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Checotah Wildcats blew past the Fort Gibson Tigers 13-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Hailey Prince was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Prince was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kami Hamm was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Sydnie West was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
