Basketball Recap: Pioneer Snags 14th Win in Last 15 Games

Pioneer extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Kassandra Garcia. The Pioneer Diamondbacks took down the Sharyland Rattlers 44-26 on Friday thanks in part to Garcia, who posted 13 points along with eight assists and seven boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 29 games she's played.

Danica Gonzalez was another key player, putting up four points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals. She is becoming a predictor of Pioneer's success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 21-5 (and 3-4 when she doesn't).

Pioneer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Sharyland, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-12.

Pioneer will venture away from home to take on Rowe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pioneer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for Sharyland, they will host Vela at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vela will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sharyland surely won't give up without a fight.
