Basketball Recap: Miles Skates Past Coleman with Ease

Miles waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coleman Bluecats 46-17. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Bluecats are ranked 1097th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Miles' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Hinds, who went 7 for 9 on her way to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Hinds a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson Matheny, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Miles was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Miles has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points per game. As for Coleman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

Miles has already played their next contest (against Bangs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Coleman will host Winters at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Coleman is facing Winters at the right time seeing as Winters is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
