Football Recap: West Mesquite Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

West Mesquite won the last time they faced Newman Smith and things went their way on Friday too. The Wranglers were the clear victors by a 35-12 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Wranglers have won eight contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Newman Smith lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maxim Mingo, who picked up 118 receiving yards and one TD.

The victory was the eighth in a row for West Mesquite, bringing their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points over those games. As for Newman Smith, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
