Baseball Recap: Nokomis Find Success

While Nokomis put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Erskine Academy. The Warriors blew past the Eagles 7-0. The Warriors not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024 (when they won 12-0).

Nokomis got a great performance from Zach Furrow as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Caden Chretien was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Bowden, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Nokomis' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Erskine Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Nokomis will square off against Messalonskee at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Erskine Academy, they will welcome Gardiner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
