Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lewisburg walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Starkville Yellowjackets with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

While Lewisburg won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-7, 25-21.

Lewisburg's win bumped their record up to 27-10. As for Starkville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-25-1 record this season.

Lewisburg will take on Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Starkville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
