Football Game Preview: Coastal Academy Stingrays vs. Escondido Charter Tigers

The Coastal Academy Stingrays will face off against the Escondido Charter Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coastal Academy has four straight victories, Escondido Charter has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Coastal Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-0 win over Orange Glen. The game marked the Stingrays' most dominant victory of the season.

Nolan White had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 119 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries. Cody Terpstra also deserves a shout-out for his two scores.

Coastal Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elek Vitzian and Camden Shank.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Escondido Charter's offense. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of Bishop's on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 831st, while the Knights are ranked 335th).

Escondido Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Coastal Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
