Basketball Recap: Edinburgh Takes a Loss

Edinburgh lost against Trinity Lutheran back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Edinburgh Lancers had to suffer through a 68-35 loss at the hands of the Trinity Lutheran Cougars. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Edinburgh's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinzie Purvis, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Trinity Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laura Roeder led the charge by going 7 of 11 on her way to 16 points and six steals. Roeder has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Warren, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 17 points and three steals.

Edinburgh's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Trinity Lutheran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Edinburgh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-40 defeat against Knightstown on the 7th. As for Trinity Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-39 win against Rising Sun on the 7th.
