Recap: Father Capodanno Grunts vs. Lee Christian Falcons
After flying high against the New Life Christian Academy Warriors on Monday, the Father Capodanno Grunts came back down to earth. Father Capodanno took a serious blow against the Falcons on Tuesday, falling 79-51. Father Capodanno lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 87-32 score last time.
Despite the loss, Father Capodanno still got an impressive performance from Luke Moon, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Attar, who scored 11 points.
Leading Lee Christian to victory were Christian Wilson and Daniel Rumbold. Wilson scored 27 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Rumbold dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten assists. Rumbold has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 17 times he's played. Jonas Martin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Father Capodanno has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which is still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season. As for Lee Christian, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Father Capodanno will take on the Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lee Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Falcon Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
