Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview Vikings vs. Milford Eagles

The Lakeview Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Milford Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Lakeview will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Aquinas, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings breezed past the Monarchs to the tune of 54-23 on Saturday. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Milford came up short against Aurora on Thursday and fell 51-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Huskies are ranked 35th).

Milford has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Lakeview, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Everything went Lakeview's way against Milford in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, as Lakeview made off with a 66-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
