Softball Recap: Zavalla Eagles vs. Chester Yellowjackets

Zavalla lost against Chester back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 19-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bailey Campbell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Kalie Campbell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Zavalla's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Chester, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zavalla will venture away from home to face off against Martinsville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chester, they are taking a road trip to square off against Corrigan-Camden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
