Preview: Catasauqua Rough Riders vs. Palmerton Blue Bombers
Catasauqua has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Palmerton Blue Bombers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palmerton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Catasauqua, who comes in off a win.
Catasauqua posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They skirted past Pen Argyl 44-42. The victory was just what Catasauqua needed coming off of a 52-30 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Palmerton pushed their score all the way to 79 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Notre Dame-Green Pond 85-79. It was the first time this season that Palmerton let down their fans at home.
Catasauqua's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Palmerton, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Catasauqua came up short against Palmerton when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 59-49. Can Catasauqua avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
