The Perryville Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Harford Tech Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Perryville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Perryville can't be too worried about heading out to take on Harford Tech: they just beat Havre de Grace at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Panthers blew past the Warriors 7-1 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Taegan Spier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Spier was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Julianna Reffit and Taylor McGuirk did most of the damage at the plate: Reffit went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while McGuirk went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Reffit a new career-high.
Perryville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Harford Tech's offense. They fell just short of North East by a score of 2-0 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cobras have suffered since May 1, 2024.
Lyric Strong was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
This is the second loss in a row for Harford Tech and nudges their season record down to 11-10. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Perryville, their record is now 7-9.
Perryville might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Harford Tech when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
