Baseball Game Preview: Cherry Hill East Cougars vs. Rancocas Valley Red Devils

On Friday, Cherry Hill East narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Camden County Vo-Tech 3-1.

Cole Haddock tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Cherry Hill East's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Hanni, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave Hanni a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Rancocas Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Eustace Prep.

Rancocas Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Cherry Hill East, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-2.

Cherry Hill East couldn't quite finish off Rancocas Valley in their previous meeting back in April and fell 4-2. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
