Recap: Blanchard Lions vs. Bridge Creek Bobcats
The Blanchard Lions had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They breezed by Bridge Creek at home to the tune of 40-10. The result was nothing new for Blanchard, who have now won four games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Blanchard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Cooksey, who threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was McHale Howell, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Blanchard's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22 points. As for Bridge Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blanchard will take on Bethany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bethany's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Bridge Creek, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Tecumseh at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Tecumseh is ranked 115th, while Bridge Creek is ranked 118th).
