Recap: Ansley/Litchfield Spartans vs. Axtell Wildcats

The Ansley/Litchfield Spartans's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 36-26 win over Axtell. The victory was just what Ansley/Litchfield needed coming off of a 53-20 loss in their prior matchup.

Ansley/Litchfield found their leader in underclassman Caydence Feldman, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Feldman scored 15 or more points.

Axtell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cadie Nickel, who scored ten points.

Ansley/Litchfield's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Axtell, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ansley/Litchfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Loomis at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Loomis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. Axtell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Amherst on December 15th. Amherst presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Axtell in Nebraska (Amherst is ranked 74th, while Axtell is ranked 262nd).
