Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Skates Past Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cristo Rey). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons 80-22. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cristo Rey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haven Wilson, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points and three steals. Those 50% shooting accuracy gave Wilson a new career-high. Jabril Scott was another key player, going 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points.

Cristo Rey was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cristo Rey's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Cristo Rey will challenge Godwin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Charles City at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
