Soccer Recap: Oviedo's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Oviedo lost to DeLand back in November of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Oviedo Lions won by a goal and slipped past the DeLand Bulldogs 3-2. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oviedo hit DeLand with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alexzander Pavlovic, Roman Cilento, and Nathan Capp.

The win was the fourth in a row for Oviedo, bringing their record for this year to 7-2-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for DeLand, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oviedo will venture away from home to take on Winter Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winter Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.8 goals per game this season. As for DeLand, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
