Preview: Buhach Colony Thunder vs. Patterson Tigers
After two games on the road, Buhach Colony is heading back home. They will take on The Patterson Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buhach Colony will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 849th, while Patterson is ranked 156th).
Last Friday, Buhach Colony had to suffer through a rough 59-8 loss at the hands of Merced. Buhach Colony was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-0.
Meanwhile, Patterson put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Golden Valley 63-28 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Patterson who now have three in a row.
Patterson can attribute much of their success to Jeremiah Lugo, who rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and Max Medina, who threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Lugo is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Jace Johnson was another key contributor, picking up 70 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Buhach Colony's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.0 points per game. As for Patterson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Buhach Colony came up short against Patterson when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 28-18. Will Buhach Colony have more luck at home instead of on the road?
