Volleyball Recap: Wendover Takes a Loss

Wendover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Rich Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-10.

Despite the defeat, Wendover saw an underclassman step up: freshman Emily Loll had five digs and three aces.

Rich's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tess Cornia led the charge by getting 15 assists and three digs. Cornia has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last 21 times she's played.

Wendover's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Rich, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Wendover has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Altamont on the 4th. As for Rich, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Tintic on the 4th.
