Softball Recap: Penn Kingsmen vs. Concord Minutemen
Penn had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Concord Minutemen with a sharp 14-1 win on Monday. Considering Penn has won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Aubrey Zachary looked comfortable as she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Izabella Hanna was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last five games she's played. Camille Biever was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Penn is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for Concord, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.
