Football Game Preview: Renton Red Hawks vs. Evergreen Wolverines + How To Watch

Renton has gone a perfect 7-0 against Evergreen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red Hawks will welcome the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Evergreen took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Renton, who comes in off a win.

Renton took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Inglemoor with a sharp 27-7 win. Considering the Red Hawks have won four games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Patrick Turner had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 194 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Renton is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Renton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Renton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Cameron Calhoun and Oseia Mitchell, who racked up four sacks between them. Mitchell also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Meanwhile, Evergreen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Sammamish 46-16. On the bright side, the 16- point performance marked the Wolverines' highest-scoring contest to date.

Renton's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Renton against Evergreen in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as the squad secured a 41-6 win. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
