Basketball Recap: River Mill Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jaela Lambert and Gracie Wilson

River Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southern Wake Academy Lions. The contest was a 12-12 toss-up at halftime, but the Jaguars couldn't quite close it out.

River Mill's loss came despite strong showings from Gracie Wilson and Jaela Lambert. Wilson posted 17 points, while Lambert put up five points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 60.7% of River Mill's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

River Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Southern Wake Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

River Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 31-26 loss against Ascend Leadership on the 7th. As for Southern Wake Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 36-29 defeat against Chatham Charter on the 7th.
