Soccer Recap: Holmes Takes a Loss

Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Brennan Bears, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Holmes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while Brennan are ranked 268th).

Holmes' defeat dropped their record down to 5-19-1. As for Brennan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6-3 record this season.

Holmes is taking a road trip to face off against O'Connor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holmes' defense better be ready for this one: O'Connor have averaged an impressive 2.6 goals per game this season. As for Brennan, they will welcome Taft at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
