Basketball Recap: Greens Farms Academy Dragons vs. Holy Child Gryphons
The Greens Farms Academy Dragons are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Holy Child Gryphons. Greens Farms Academy put the hurt on the Gryphons with a sharp 56-32 victory. Greens Farms Academy pushed the score to 45-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gryphons had little chance of recovering from.
Despite the defeat, Holy Child saw an underclassman step up: Sofia Verlezza scored 14 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Greens Farms Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Holy Child, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Greens Farms Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Gators at 5:00 p.m. As for Holy Child, they will head out on the road to square off against the Hilltoppers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
