Softball Recap: Patrick Henry Takes a Loss

Patrick Henry extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-17 in the process. They came up short against the Christiansburg Blue Demons, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-1 back in April.

As for Christiansburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

For Christiansburg's part, Addison Reasor was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Smith, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3.

Patrick Henry and Christiansburg could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Patriots (ranked 297th) will meet Cave Spring (ranked 145th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Christiansburg will face off against Abingdon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (71 vs. 5).
