There's no place like home for Mt. Vernon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the St. Charles Cardinals 3-2. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-99) Mt. Vernon actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 12-25, 15-13.

Hunter Thompson paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up 21 kills. Thompson got some help from Isaiah Campbell and his 34 assists.
