After a string of six wins, the Jefferson County North Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Rossville at home by a decisive 57-38 margin. Jefferson County North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rossville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Rossville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kameron Badura led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Badura has scored all season. Cameron Miller was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Jefferson County North's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3-1. As for Rossville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Jefferson County North won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Valley Falls on January 20th. Valley Falls is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.9 points per game. Rossville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Perry-Lecompton at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. Perry-Lecompton is on a four-game streak of home wins, Rossville a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
