Volleyball Recap: Francie Taft and Caroline Bayes Secure Win for J.H. Rose

J.H. Rose entered their tilt with Croatan on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Rampants, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While J.H. Rose won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-13.

J.H. Rose was led to victory by Caroline Bayes and Francie Taft. Bayes had 22 digs and two assists, while Taft had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Taft has posted since back in September of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: J.H. Rose was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

J.H. Rose's record is now 3-0. As for Croatan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

J.H. Rose will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
