Basketball Recap: Atlanta Classical Academy Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Atlanta Classical Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 65-56 to the Atlanta International Eagles on Friday. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Oscar Garcia-Ide, who posted 24 points. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Pemberton, who earned 16 points.

Coming up, Atlanta Classical Academy will square off against Southwest Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Atlanta International, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-56 victory against Clarkston on the 11th.
