Bremen is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Blue Island Eisenhower a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Bremen Braves will be playing at home against the Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Bremen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Bremen came up short against Argo and fell 7-3.
Jack Banda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bremen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Cardinal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Blue Island Eisenhower also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Lemont by a score of 5-2.
Adriel Castro put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Blue Island Eisenhower: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-16 otherwise.
Bremen's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bremen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blue Island Eisenhower struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bremen took their win against Blue Island Eisenhower in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
