Volleyball Recap: Walker Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Walker Valley's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the McMinn County Cherokees by a score of 3-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

While Walker Valley might've won, it sure wasn't easy: McMinn County scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22.

Walker Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Mcclung led the charge by getting 14 digs and four aces. Those 14 digs gave Mcclung a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julia Scarbrough, who had five digs and two aces.

Walker Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-19. As for McMinn County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Walker Valley will head out to challenge Rhea County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McMinn County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
