Basketball Recap: Winnebago Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winnebago had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-57 W against the Santee Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Santee lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Wendy Archambeau, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Johnson, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Winnebago's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Santee, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Winnebago didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-40 defeat against Wayne on the 17th. As for Santee, they have also already played their next matchup, a 57-53 victory against Stuart on the 18th.
